Melchizedek

Is Melchizedek in Genesis 14 an historical person? Is he Shem as some think, or is he a preincarnation appearance of Jesus? The following is a list of historical candidates for Melchizedek, and other persons/places he may be connected with. The few asterisked Mesopotamian and Egyptian ones are the most likely historical person matches.

Melchizedek "king of righteousness/justice" king of Salem "peace" priest of the most high God (versus Melkiresha "king of wickedness in the Dead Sea Scrolls) could be connected with:

Classical: Solymites?

Egyptian: Set/Seth/Sutekh?
Semerhet (1st dyn)? *
Shem-re? *
Imhotep (3rd dyn)?
Philitis "lover of righteousness" (4th dyn)?

Hebrew: Michael?
Noah called righteous?
Shem? *
Sedegetelebab (wife of Shem)?
Melchizedek. *
Solymites?
Adonizedek?
Zadok?
Zedekiah?
Melchiresha (Belial)?
Teacher of  Righteousness (DSS)?
Sadducees?
Jesus/Shiloh (Psalms, Hebrews)?
Dikaios ("Just One", Jesus, Acts)?
Khallat es-Siddiq (Nabratein)?
James the Just?
Zedekiel  ("Jupiter", angel)?
Zedek ("Messiah")?

Phoenician: Sydyk?

Mesopotamian: Enme/Inmen "king priest / priest king"?
Dilmun?
Mukh-la...Tasia...A-zag / Gul-la-(d)nidaba-anna(-pad) / Kul-lassinabel "lord companion" (Kish 1)? *
Macda/Mashda/(Mesh)Rasax/(Mash)Ruzax ("priest", Kish 1)?
Meskalamdug/Meskalamshar/Paunutu "hero of the good land" (Ur 0/1)? *
Mesilim/Mesalim (Kish)?
Ur-zagaga (devotee of god Zawawa, Kish 4)?
Utuk (patesi/khattesig/ensi of Kish)?
Lugal-zaggesi (Uruk 3)?
Ammi-saduga (Babylon 1)?

Iranian: Azhi-Dahaka/Zohak/Astyages?
Salm/Sayrima (originaly east, later west)?

Indian: "Melik-Sadaksina was a great Indian prince, magician, and spiritual giant - the son of a Kassite king"?

Maori: battle of 5 forts?

The 3 main candidates are:

1. Meskalamdug is possibly a good match. His name is very similar to Melchizedek with just a little slight diference in order of few consonants. Another reading of his name is Meskalamshar which could possibly resemble king (melchi) of Shalem?
https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Meskalamdug
(We still have to write abit more explanation on possible matches of Meskalamdug and Ur 0/1 dynasty with Melchizedek and Abraham.)

2. Abraham was seemingly in Egypt around about the time of Semerhet in Egypt.
The famine/drought and following plague(s)/disaster(s) of Abraham (Genesis 12) matches famine/drought & following (numerous) plague(s)/disaster(s) (& miracles) of Uenephes/Ata/Semenptah (Bey pages 28-9) &/or Semti (Bristowe) &/or Semerhet (Clayton page 25).
Joseph was in Egypt in time of Sekhemhet of the 3rd dynasty. Sekhemhet was origionally/once confused with Semerhet of the 1st dynasty.
Semerhet or Semti is similar to Shem who some equate with Melchizedek.
(We still have to write abit more on this.)

3. The "hacking up of the city of Shem-Re (& the  house of the north)" of Nynetjer's reign (2nd dyn) is about the time of Abraham (Sodom) or Jacob (Shechem).

We agree that Melchizedek is likely to be Shem, and that he is a pretype of Jesus who is "of the order of Melchizedek" (but is not the Melchizedek of Genesis himself) and is a descendant of Shem.
